Within our Analytical Services team, we have a functional service provider solution, which is an outstanding partnership that allows our customers to use the experience of our staff, while allowing you, the employee, to gain direct experience working onsite at a pharmaceutical/ biopharmaceutical company, all while maintaining full-time benefits.

In this role on a Client site you would be working with the Innovation and Digital Health Analytics team, partnering with team members and enterprise business partners to enable rapid and high-quality contracting solutions for a successful, innovative team. Our ideal candidate is proficient in contracting and purchasing processes/systems. The successful candidate will work with subject matter experts and collaborators including legal, procurement category managers, and external partners. The role is managed out of our Princeton Pike location in Lawrenceville, NJ.

Core responsibilities :

  • Lead the successful execution and life-cycle management of templated agreements and their associated purchase orders as follows:
    • Ensure contract requests align with department project and budget goals and track with Finance/Operations to enhance the value of every contract completed.
    • Work directly with department contract requestors to identify essential information required to process the requests.
    • Proactively draft, review and/or edit agreement to align with business unit needs/requirements; ensure contracts are completed efficiently, compliantly, and effectively.
    • Partner with legal department and other collaborators to incorporate specialist language to mitigate any potential risks.
    • Negotiate red-lined agreements with supplier with input from key collaborators.
    • Track status of each contract as well as communicate and follow up on actions and next steps through contract execution and approval.
    • Route for execution in the contracting system and save a copy to the group SharePoint site.
    • Route the Purchase Requisition for completed contracts and save a copy of the Purchase Order to the SharePoint site.
    • As needed, troubleshooting purchase order issuance and/or adjustment associated with contracts.
  • Facilitate the collection of key information and triage to the appropriate contracting group for specialty agreements.
  • Be the subject matter expert for all department contracts, including managing the maintenance of a central repository and contract expiration tracker for renewal or planned expiration.
  • Be the central resource for the team on contract procedures, policies, and changes to the same; provide guidance on key contracting concepts.
  • Improve contract procedures by identifying gaps and solutions and then aligning across collaborators.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/ vocational qualification
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2 + years)
  • 3-5 years contract administration experience is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of the full contracting life cycle.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proactive and customer focused with strong interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex contracting concepts to non-experts.
  • Experience with SharePoint, SAP, Icertis, and/or Ariba systems would be an asset.
  • Experience and/or educational background in research, biological sciences and/or early drug development would be an advantage.
  • The candidate must have good organizational and time management skills.
  • The candidate must be able to deliver when working under assigned timelines and with minimal supervision.
