ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Receivable
- Accounts for invoices
- Enters customer remittances and deposits checks
- Resolves deductions from payments
- Collects overdue accounts
- Enters returns
- Processes credit notes for deductions, returns, allowances
- Generates debit notes for resolved deductions
- Troubleshoots customer service inquiries
- Administers credit management
Accounts Payable
- Processes invoices and supporting documents
- Researches problem invoices; interfaces with vendors, customer service team, and others to reconcile
- Reconciles freight bills
- Analyzes freight claims
- Prints checks with supporting documents
General Accounting
- Maintains accounting department files and records
- Enters information into accounting data entry system
- Reconciles bank accounts
- Generates reports and analyses for internal and external (e.g. auditors) users
- Assists in closing the books monthly and annually
- One (1) year of related work experience in accounting, or a related degree required
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic math calculations with accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong computer skills
- Acute attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Bookkeeping certification, plus
Regularly stand/sit for extended periods, operate office equipment, perform light-moderate lifting, lift/move up to 35 lbs. occasionally, bend, twist, and maintain posture. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.
