Baratz & Associates, P.A. is seeking a Staff Accountant I – Audit to support our Not‑for‑Profit audit practice , including organizations subject to Single Audit and Yellow Book requirements . This role provides structured training and hands‑on exposure to governmental and nonprofit audit standards. This role is IN-OFFICE FULL-TIME, no hybrid or remote schedules are currently offered. Responsibilities
- Assist with Not‑for‑Profit audit engagements , including organizations subject to Single Audit requirements.
- Perform audit procedures under supervision in accordance with firm methodology.
- Assist with testing of internal controls and compliance requirements.
- Prepare audit workpapers and supporting schedules.
- Gather and organize client documentation and follow up on audit requests.
- Learn and apply GAAP, Uniform Guidance, and Yellow Book standards.
- Communicate audit questions and issues to senior team members.
- Maintain professional conduct in all client and team interactions.
- Participate in firm training and professional development activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Working toward 150 credit hours and CPA eligibility.
- 0–2 years of audit or public accounting experience (internship preferred).
- Interest in Not‑for‑Profit and governmental auditing .
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office; audit software exposure a plus.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel locally.
