Demand Planner
Central Garden & Pet Company (NASDAQ: CENT) is a leading innovator, marketer, and producer of quality branded products for the pet, lawn, and garden supplies markets. Our Dog and Cat business unit is searching for a Demand Planner who will be responsible for developing and communicating the demand and supply plan that will enable the BU to meet sales and service objectives.
Reporting to the Forecasting Manager, the Demand Planner will be responsible for creating SKU-level forecasts that drive supply and financial planning for the assigned BU. Collaborating with other members of the Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support Teams will play a paramount role in achieving our business objectives and meeting the demands of our customers.
This role is based out of our Neptune City, NJ facility 5x a week. MEASURES OF SUCCESS:- Utilize statistical forecasting software (Logility) to create a SKU, Customer, and BU-level 18-month forecast that drives supply plans and provides the basis for financial forecasts.
- In developing the forecast, gather and interpret data from various databases and sources. This process includes collaborating cross-functionally with sales, marketing, customers, manufacturing, purchasing, and distribution. Data sources may include POS, ERP systems, sales history, and customer forecasts. These inputs are utilized to validate and alter the statistical forecast to reflect future demand.
- Convert the demand plan into a supply plan that drives replenishment through the MRP process and manage SKUs as they move through the product life cycle.
- Create and deliver reports and presentations using Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Tableau to communicate KPIs, trends, and insights to internal teams and senior leadership.
- Leverage relational database knowledge to build and analyze both standard and ad hoc reports in a clear and concise manner.
- Serve as a key S&OP team member, presenting BU-level forecasts in both internal and external meetings, including those with senior management and key customers.
- Work with Purchasing, Production, and other Supply Chain functions to analyze gaps between demand plan, customer orders, and supply plan, including potential inventory shortages.
- Drive forecast accuracy to support company goals related to fill rates, inventory optimization, production efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or similar field.
- 2-5 years of experience in similar inventory planning and replenishment role, CPG industry preferred.
- Knowledge of business processes and cycles, including ERP and MRP systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to utilize forecasting software to create statistical forecast.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with exceptional written and verbal communication.
- Highly analytical, computer proficiency in all MS Office applications with extensive knowledge in Excela.
- Knowledge and experience in data warehouses, and tools such as Power BI, and Tableau.
