Position Description
The Senior Associate Scientist will be a part of a team of Imaging scientists engaged in anatomical and functional imaging biomarker discovery and assay development. The successful candidate will work with Preclinical Imaging scientists to provide all necessary in vivo scientist support. Major areas of focus include drug/contrast agent injection, necropsy, handling, anesthesia in small (rodents) and large (non-human primates, dogs) animal models. Expect to work closely with fellow Imaging investigators on multiple projects in parallel through an environment of open communication. The senior associate scientist will collaborate closely with scientists inside/outside of own department across all therapeutic areas at Bristol Myers Squibb while maintaining electronic records, communicating effectively to colleagues/customers, and conducting scientific presentations at internal and external meetings as available. Selected candidate can plan to learn acquisition on multiple imaging systems (e.g. MRI, PET, CT, SPECT, optical imaging, or autoradiography) and their applications to drug discovery.

Position Requirements
Minimum BS in relevant scientific discipline (Biology or Veterinary Sciences) with 5 or more years of industry experience working with small animals (e.g. rodent species), following imaging SOPs, and writing animal care and use protocols. Candidates must have hands-on experience with in vivo laboratory procedures, including animal handling and administration of compounds via IV, IP, PO, SC, and IM routes. Other desirable experience in small animal anesthesia, rodent catheterization (tail vein, femoral artery / vein) and their application a plus. Experience in handling and administration of controlled substances and radioactive materials (PET tracers) to small animal models desired. Experience working with human tissue samples, multimodality imaging, and autoradiography are pluses. Qualified candidates should be self-motivated with the ability to multitask in a matrixed environment, work effectively as part of a team, and be responsible. Effective communication, integrity, reliability, and scientific creativity are critical.

Compensation Overview:

Princeton - NJ - US: $93,250 - $112,991

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
