NBCUniversal is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer, Salesforce DevOps to lead the strategy, implementation, and continuous improvement of our Salesforce DevOps practices. This role is ideal for an experienced technologist who combines deep Salesforce platform expertise with a passion for automation, scalability, and team enablement.

You will be responsible for designing and managing the end-to-end release pipeline, ensuring high-quality, secure, and efficient deployments across multiple Salesforce orgs. You'll work closely with developers, architects, and business stakeholders to drive DevOps maturity, enforce best practices, and foster a culture of continuous delivery.

Responsibilities

DevOps Strategy & Leadership

  • Execute and evolve the Salesforce DevOps roadmap, aligning with enterprise engineering and business goals.

  • Champion automation across build, test, and release processes to improve velocity and reliability.

  • Lead the group's support for Salesforce triannual releases, integrating routine compliance and maintenance cadences.

Release Management

  • Own the release lifecycle for Salesforce applications, including sandbox management, version control, and deployment coordination.

  • Collaborate with and coach development teams to ensure smooth, error-free deployments and rollback strategies.

  • Troubleshoot complex deployment issues and design robust solutions.

Tooling & Automation

  • Manage and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Salesforce CLI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or other automation frameworks.

  • Integrate DevOps tooling with project management and documentation platforms (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

  • Ensure robust validation processes across environments.

Collaboration & Enablement

  • Mentor developers and admins on DevOps principles, tooling, and workflows including source management and deployment automation.

  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to resolve deployment issues and improve release outcomes.

Basic Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development or architecture with at least 3 years focused on Salesforce and at least 1 year focused on DevOps or release management.

  • Proven expertise with Salesforce DevOps tools (Gearset, Copado, Flosum, DevOps Center) and source-driven development workflows.

  • Strong command of Salesforce CLI, SFDX, Git/GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Strong command of Salesforce metadata, packaging, and deployment strategies.

  • Experience managing multi-org environments and complex release schedules.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • Salesforce certifications including: Platform Developer I & II, Platform Administrator I & II

  • Experience with test automation frameworks and quality assurance practices.

  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and cloud-native development.

  • Background in Media & Entertainment or other large-scale enterprise environments.
