- Type: Long-Term Contract
- Schedule: 7-hour day | Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Role Overview
The Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planner will be responsible for developing comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans for multiple integrated systems. This includes collaborating with executives, management, and subject matter experts to create, maintain, and test strategies that ensure organizational resilience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing, maintaining, and implementing business continuity and disaster recovery strategies and solutions, including risk assessments, business impact analyses, strategy selection, and documentation.
- Planning, conducting, and debriefing regular mock-disaster exercises.
- Coordinating continuity efforts after disruption events.
Mandatory Skills/Experience
- Expertise in developing disaster recovery plans for physical locations with critical assets such as data centers.
- Ability to develop contingency plans to manage organizational emergencies.
- Experience testing and validating disaster recovery strategies.
- Strong knowledge of risk assessments, business impact analyses, and recovery time objectives.
- Ability to review and enhance existing BCDR, crisis management, and emergency management plans.
- Experience writing detailed reports summarizing testing activities, outcomes, and recommendations.
- Ability to establish and maintain communication strategies such as call trees.
- Budget development for business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives.
- Ongoing professional development in disaster recovery and business continuity.
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Certified Disaster Recovery Engineer (CDRE)
- Minimum 5+ years of proven experience in developing and implementing BCDR plans across multiple industries.
- Strong background in risk assessments, business impact analyses, and continuity exercises.
- BA or BS in Business Continuity Management, Disaster Recovery, Information Technology, Risk Management, or a related field.
Special Requirements
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure (networks, servers, databases, cloud).
- Understanding of data backup and recovery technologies.
- Proficiency in risk management software and tools.
- Ability to facilitate risk assessments, business impact analyses, and mock exercises.
- Proven skills in creating and executing BCDR plans, policies, and crisis management strategies.
- Strong communication skills with stakeholders across all organizational levels.
- Analytical mindset to evaluate risks and vulnerabilities.
- Ability to deliver staff training and awareness programs.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Strategic thinking to minimize disruption and maintain operational continuity during disasters.
