Job Description



We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our Economic Damages/Forensic Accounting team. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, driven person with a well-rounded skill set to join our team, whose responsibilities extend beyond those of traditional Admin Assistant. The ideal person for this role will need to not only have a strong grasp of administrative tasks but also be flexible and a strategic thinker able to take on a variety of tasks. The Westmont office has a team of approximately 17 professionals, the office provides consulting and expert witness services mostly to law firms and insurance claims professionals, quantifying the financial aspects of matters in dispute. Our work product is typically a written report which expresses an opinion as to a financial loss – whether it be lost profits, lost earning capacity of an individual, additional medical costs, property damage or fraud investigations, just to name a few types of cases.

 

We are seeking an energetic Assistant to work in our Westmont, NJ office on a hybrid basis. J.S. Held is focused on learning and development and is continually looking to attract and retain top talent who are creative, self-motivated, and organized.

Qualifications

  • Assist in editing, detail quality review and finalizing reports and exhibits to provide to clients
  • Process inquiries into the firm’s services and individual team members request for services
  • Process conflict check inquiries, assist in billing, generating invoices, process new case information and interaction with firm systems D365 and BOX
  • New case set up, processing case documents provided by clients, organization of documents in folders, correspondence directly with clients
  • Able to multi-task, field client inquiries, assist in preparation of reports, work with others in the office
  • Handles requests and performs administrative support to small teams and/or leadership as needed for special projects
  • Back up reception/answering calls, taking messages and transferring phone calls.
  • Assist with any other tasks assigned by the executives.
  • A background working in a law firm as a paralegal or administrative assistant is a plus. You will be processing various legal documents, complaints, depositions, and other pleadings and expert documents, so a good understanding of the legal process will be helpful.

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $29.00 - $34.00 per hour. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, management responsibility, etc.
