Software Engineering Manager Aerospace & Defense Systems | Full-Time | Philadelphia Metro Area

What You'll Do:

• Lead the software design and development lifecycle , from requirements analysis and system design through implementation and testing.

• Establish and optimize development standards, coding practices, and quality controls to elevate performance across multiple engineering teams.

• Partner with Systems, Electrical, and Software Engineering leaders to drive cross-functional collaboration and efficient project execution.

• Manage staffing, hiring, and mentorship for a growing team of engineers fostering technical excellence and professional growth.

• Provide leadership in proposal development , cost estimation, and EVMS-based project management .

• Contribute to hands-on development and technical reviews to ensure high-assurance product delivery.

What You Bring:

• Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software, or Electrical Engineering (Masters preferred).

• 9+ years of software development experience (7+ with Masters), including 2+ years of technical leadership or team management.

• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (minimum required).

• Experience with one or more of the following:

  • Embedded or real-time software development

  • Information Assurance / Encryption / Key Management

  • Naval or tactical communications systems

  • Secure wired/wireless systems

• Familiarity with Agile / DevOps environments, proposal writing, and Basis of Estimate generation .

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on results, mentorship, and innovation.
