The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Prepares, seasons and cooks food for hospital patients, hospital café, meals on wheels program and special functions for both on and off sites while maintaining a sanitary and safe work environment following all state and local health codes.

Qualifications:

Required:

• HS Diploma
• Ability to speak, read and write English

Preferred:

• One year hotel /restaurant cooking experience

Scheduling Requirements:

• Full Time Day

Essential Functions:

Prepares required amount of food to cover meals

• Consistently follows recipes when preparing food

• Frequently tastes food for quality assurance

• Takes temperatures daily following local and state codes

• Stores and labels food properly

• Follows daily and weekly cleaning schedule

• Demonstrates five star standards with staff, patients and customers

• Prepares fresh products daily

• Reviews daily production sheets to properly identify type and quality of food to be prepared

• Minimizes waste and over production

• Rotates food items on an FIFO+A95 basis

• Insures all foods are kept at proper holding temperatures

• Successfully performs batch cooking

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds

• Responsible for daily signage and specials

• Operates other stations when needed

• Attends all department and hospital meetings when scheduled
