Maintenance Mechanic

Staff Management Group is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our client in Randolph, NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements BEFORE applying for this position.

Schedule:

• 1st & 2nd Shifts Available
• 7:30AM - 4PM or...
• 4PM - 12:30AM
• Plus Overtime

Pay Rate:

• $33 - $35 / hour

Job Summary:

We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This is a temp-to-hire role with a well-established manufacturing company. The right candidate will be tasked with diagnosing and repairing a variety of production machinery to support smooth operations and reduce equipment downtime.

Job Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot machine malfunctions to maintain production and quality.
• Perform repairs, maintenance, and improvements on machines.
• Fill out required documentation of set up, maintenance and modifications.
• Communicate updates, issues, and concerns with superiors, operators, and other mechanics.
• Set up and break down machines.
• Document major repairs or adjustments in ERP system.
• Conduct preventive maintenance activities as required.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required; additional certification from a technical or trade school is a plus.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, ideally within cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing environments.
• Solid mechanical skills with proven experience maintaining production machinery.
• Familiarity with electrical systems, basic PLC troubleshooting, and facility utilities.
• Capable of reading and understanding technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Understanding of safety regulations, GMPs, and preventive maintenance principles.
• Flexibility to work overtime as required.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (FDA, cGMP).
