Woods Machinery is seeking a Sales Representative to serve the Southwestern New Jersey and Northern Delaware territory. The Sales Representative plays a crucial role in driving sales and revenue growth by establishing and maintaining relationships with customers. The Sales Representative will be responsible for understanding our customers needs, recommending suitable equipment solutions, and facilitating successful transactions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Relationship Management

  • Identify and establish relationships with potential customers, including government accounts, construction companies, contractors, landscapers, and industrial businesses.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships by understanding their needs and providing tailored equipment solutions.
  • Conduct daily sales calls per pre-planned itinerary, with specific objectives.

Sales and Revenue Generation

  • Meet and exceed sales targets by actively promoting and selling a wide range of compact construction equipment products and services.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and quotes to potential clients.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions to close sales deals, ensuring mutual satisfaction.
  • Manage the entire sales process, from lead generation to post-sale customer support.
  • Actively promote other company products and services offered by Woods Machinery including Rentals, Service and Parts.

Product Knowledge

  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in compact construction equipment technology and trends.
  • Provide expert guidance to clients regarding product features, benefits, and technical specifications.
  • Keep customers informed of new products and opportunities.
  • Attend sales training classes, as required.

Market Research

  • Conduct market research within your territory to identify industry trends, competitive pricing, and customer preferences.
  • Share market insights within your territory with the sales team and contribute to the development of sales strategies.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of sales, market share and gross margin against projections and devise a plan for improvement.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Maintain accurate, organized, and timely sales records, including customer information, quotes, contracts, and sales activity reports.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Parts, Service and Rental Department personnel) to ensure seamless order processing and delivery.

Customer Support

  • Provide exceptional customer support by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.
  • Address customer issues promptly.
  • Maintain a positive company image.

Other

  • Ensure compliance with Woods Machinerys Vehicle Safety and Use policy at all times while operating a company vehicle.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong sales and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, positively and convey a sense of confidence through multiple channels of communication including in-person, telephone, and email.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse clientele.
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
  • Excellent organization skills and time management skills.
  • A commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in compact construction equipment sales or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of compact construction equipment, machinery, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to comprehend instructions and information.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, while talking and listening.
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel as needed.
