Accounting Manager
Jersey City, NJ
We are partnering with a growing organization in the Jersey City, NJ area seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to join their team. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys balancing leadership responsibilities with day-to-day operational accounting involvement.
The Accounting Manager will oversee core accounting functions, support financial reporting and cash flow management, and play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP and AR functions
- Prepare and maintain A/R aging reports and assist with collections visibility
- Manage month-end close , including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analysis
- Support cash flow forecasting and liquidity management
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and ASC 842 accounting standards
- Assist with process improvements and support overall accounting operations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership and operational teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 3 years of prior accounting leadership/management experience
- Prior oversight of AP/AR operations
- Strong understanding of GAAP and ASC 842
- Experience with cash flow forecasting and financial reporting
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CMA designation
- Experience with Sage Intacct and/or Sage 300
