The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Cook has to have the ability to prepare quality food for patients, visitors and staff while following HACCP and recipe standards.

Qualifications:

Required:

• At least 2 years cooking experience.

Preferred:

• Servsafe or food handlers certificate is preferred.

Scheduling Requirements:

• Part-Time
• Day Shift
• Cooks will be required to work alternate weekends with alternate days during the week.

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrate knowledge of, how to operate safely, maintain, and clean the following equipment: Meat slicer, Roasting Ovens, Floor Mixer, Counter Mixer, Blender, Fat Fryer, Hot tops, Grills, Broiler, and Steamer
• Recognizes accuracy, appearance, proper temperature and flavor of all hot items served
• Able to accurately report all amounts of food prepared and the amounts of all leftovers
• Demonstrates ability to portion all foods properly and ensure that proper yields are obtained
• Capable of leaving the cook's area clean at night and to ensure that all ranges, ovens, etc., are turned off
• Demonstrates ability to gather all canned and frozen items needed for each meal, using proper amounts as per production sheets
• Able to cook breakfast, lunch and grill items to order
• Demonstrates ability to read and interpret production sheets, catering sheets, menus and recipes
• Capable of replenishing hot food to cafeteria counter and trayline, maintaining continuous service
• Demonstrates ability to increase and decrease portions on recipe cards while using conversion charts and be able to communicate this to others
• Able to organize the timing of all production work, understand actual prep time and plan meal production using traffic flow
• Able to store foods before, during and after the meals and be able to maintain these foods at proper temperatures
