Clinical Specialist

Job Title: Clinical Specialist
Type: Contract - 3 months
Compensation: $55/hr - $65/hr
Contractor Work Model: Remote – offsite
Hours: 30 hours weekly

The Clinical Specialist role supports product development by managing and executing hands-on clinical testing and helping substantiate product claims. You’ll partner closely with R&D and cross-functional stakeholders while serving as the key point of contact for external CROs/vendors, coordinating timelines, protocols, study documentation, and data summaries from concept through stakeholder-ready deliverables—ideal for someone who’s scientifically curious, highly organized, and collaborative in a fast-paced CPG/cosmetic environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute clinical testing activities to support product development and claims substantiation.
• Partner closely with internal cross-functional teams and external vendors/CROs to design, coordinate, and manage studies from concept through data dissemination.
• Support and execute study design, including completion of study documentation and test plans.
• Manage protocol development and formation for clinical studies.
• Serve as the primary contact for external CROs and vendors, managing timelines, availability, scheduling, and deliverables.
• Partner with R&D and laboratory teams on labeling, sample logistics, and testing readiness.
• Troubleshoot study issues proactively and recommend practical solutions.
• Summarize, format, and interpret data for internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Hands-on study execution is essential.
• Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field (Biology, Chemistry, Consumer Science, etc.).
• 2+ years of experience in consumer science, clinical research, or as a clinical study coordinator.
• Experience working directly with external vendors and CROs.
• Background in CPG or cosmetic testing preferred; pharma experience considered.
