Job Title: Database Programmer/Analyst

Location: Hybrid – New Jersey
Job Type: Full-time/Contract(10-11Months)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Database Programmer/Analyst to design, develop, and maintain data solutions that support analytical and operational reporting needs. This role bridges the gap between data development and business analysis by creating efficient SQL scripts, reporting queries, and analyzing database performance to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain SQL scripts, stored procedures, views, and functions to support application logic and reporting.
• Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and business insights.
• Collaborate with business users and analysts to understand data needs and translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Perform database tuning and query optimization for better performance.
• Design and document data models, database schemas, and data dictionaries.
• Support data validation, cleansing, and integration activities across multiple sources.
• Generate ad-hoc and scheduled reports using SQL or reporting tools (e.g., SSRS, Power BI, Tableau).
• Assist in data migration, ETL development, and maintenance of existing processes.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in SQL programming and relational database analysis.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL .
• Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries, joins, and data aggregations.
• Good understanding of data modeling and relational database design .
• Experience working with reporting and BI tools .
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues independently.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, Talend).
• Exposure to data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling .
• Familiarity with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google BigQuery).
• Basic scripting skills in Python, R , or PowerShell .

Certifications (Nice to Have):

• Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate
• Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate
• Tableau or Power BI Certification
