Bread Baker
We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and hardworking bread baker to join our small and growing family-run bakery. We serve naturally leavened, artisan breads and pastry items to select Farmers Markets in North Jersey.
The ideal candidate is familiar with high-hydration and slowly fermented doughs, has strong communication skills, and is open to learning and developing their craft in a warm, community-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Mix, shape, and bake a range of naturally leavened breads and pastry items
- Monitor dough proofing and fermentation stages with care and consistency
- Follow recipes and production schedules accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards throughout the kitchen
Required experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in a commercial bakery or bread and pastry program (required).
- Familiarity with naturally leavened and slow-fermentation techniques
- Experience working with high-hydration doughs
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and recipes
- Experience working with hearth based deck ovens
- Strong team player with good communication skills

Schedule
- Weekend availability required
- Day shift with ability to work overnight preferred
