Job Title: Phlebotomist I - Warren Job Description

The primary role of a Phlebotomist is to assist in various duties, troubleshoot, provide training, and recommend workflow improvements.

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, and record maintenance data.
• Decontaminate and update patient information.
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
• Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collections, such as urine or fecal, as required.
• Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all physicians' orders.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by the test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for 100% accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Store specimen samples at required temperatures in appropriate containers/tubes.
• Follow specific protocols to maintain specimen integrity during transport.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 0-2 years of experience in a related field.

• Experience drawing from patients aged 0-8 years and older.

The position is based in Warren, NJ, with a work schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The role involves working in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting. Compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations is required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warren, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Warren,NJ.
