Traveling Remediation Laborer
Clean Harbors is seeking a Traveling Remediation Laborer for our Soil Remediation Group project in Kenvil, NJ. This position will work locally during the Kenvil, NJ project months which account for about 6 months out of the year. Once the project closes down for the year the employee will be required to travel to other project sites around the country as needed.
Schedule: Standard rotation of 6 weeks on will be compensated with some time off following, usually 1 week off paid. Significant OT available while at projects. 60+ hours a week.

Pay: $20-24- Determined on Experience

Responsibilities:
- Adheres to and ensures constant compliance with Health & Safety Compliance and regulations;
- Responsible for the safe and compliant execution of all jobs that they work on, ensuring customer satisfaction;
- Assists the on-scene foreman/supervisor in managing large projects;
- General remediation labor activities and possibly operating heavy equipment;
- Performs emergency response activities including, but not limited to chemical and water spills, etiological and biological contamination, equipment decontamination, etc.;
- Responsible for vehicle inspections, equipment inspections and Health & Safety inspections. Ensures proper use of equipment and immediately notifies supervisor of any mechanical failures or problems with equipment;
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of Clean Harbors business, including, but not limited to running supplies, emergency response clean ups, etc.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required;
- Valid Driver's License and acceptable MVR ;
- Previous heavy equipment experience is a plus;
- Strong mechanical ability preferred;
- Understands the manpower and equipment required to complete assignments;
- Knowledge of equipment repairs and preventative maintenance helpful;
- Knowledge of RCRA requirements/regulations helpful, training provided;
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation DOT regulations, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) waste codes, manifesting and Land Disposal Restrictions (LDR) helpful, training provided;
- All other duties as required by Management.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires pulling/pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, crawling, stooping and crouching in confined spaces; Requires walking, climbing, speaking, listening, color determination and clarity of vision at 2 feet or more (with or without lenses); Requires sitting for extended periods. Requires the ability to properly wear and use personal respirator equipment and other forms of personal protective equipment (PPE) including all levels, including full encapsulation PPE suits which can elevate body temperature substantially during strenuous exertion;
- Available for 24/day onācall basis;
- Requires speaking, writing, and listening in English;
- Position involves strenuous physical exertion. Requires standing, lifting up to 50lbs.
