**Accounting Manager** **Somerset, NJ** **Pay: $53 an hour** The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, and variance analysis, and will be comfortable managing both operational and technical accounting activities with minimal supervision. **Key Responsibilities** - Supervise and support a 3-person accounting team (Accountant, Analyst, AR/AP). - Review and post journal entries; ensure accuracy and GAAP compliance. - Maintain the general ledger and perform account reconciliations. - Research and resolve accounting variances and discrepancies. - Oversee AP and AR data accuracy, coding, and posting. - Lead or assist in month-end close and financial reporting. - Document and improve accounting procedures and workflows. **Qualifications** - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field. - 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience. - Strong understanding of GAAP, journal entries, and general ledger structure. - Proficient in ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, NetSuite preferred). - Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, reconciliations, lookups). - High attention to detail; produces accurate, error-free work. - Takes initiative, self-directed, and can operate with minimal supervision. **Contract Details** - Duration: 3-6 months (with possible extension). - Start Date: Immediate. - Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, based on experience. **Ideal Candidate** A hands-on accounting professional who leads by example, demonstrates technical accuracy, and proactively improves accounting operations.
