THE WORK

* The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

The Project Engineering Lead will direct AIT Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) projects and other special projects from pre planning through final installation.
- This role provides technical, programmatic, and financial leadership while coordinating with multiple Lockheed Martin (LM) functions and external government customers.

- Responsibilities:
Lead Project Execution
Oversee all phases of assigned AIT BMD and special projects, from installation planning to completion.
Communicate daily with the AIT project engineering team, waterfront AITs, AIT management, Ship Integration & Test, and other LM disciplines.
Serve as the primary liaison among internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project flow.
- Financial Management
Prepare, track, and report financial deliverables to the assigned LM Program Management Office (PMO).
Ensure project budgets are adhered to and cost saving opportunities are identified.
Government Customer Interface
Execute technical and programmatic tasks for customers such as the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), PEO IWS, and NSWC PHD.
Provide status updates, risk assessments, and required documentation.

Travel Requirements:
- Conduct occasional travel to LM and partner facilities, including San Diego (CA), Norfolk (VA), Mayport (FL), Pascagoula (MS), Washington, DC, and LM campuses in the Moorestown (NJ) area.

*Qualified candidate must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. US Citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
Experience (minimum of 2+ years) assisting with or leading project planning efforts.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to coordinate and run meetings.
Ability to travel up to 25%

Desired Skills:
Experience and or knowledge of leading projects with EVM and cost account knowledge
Familiarity with the US Navy NAVSEA Technical Specification 9090-310 - Ship Alteration Accomplishment by Installation Teams
Familiarity with Aegis Combat System and BMD systems
Experience working with US Navy or other military
Experience with technical document editing utilizing PDF editor software
PMP certification or study
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidates final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
