Staff Pharmacist - SP 25-23784
Job Title: Staff Pharmacist
Location: Edison, NJ
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift (8 hours/day)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week
Shift Times: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
On-Call/Holiday Requirement: None
A leading healthcare facility in New Jersey is seeking a Staff Pharmacist for a full-time contract position. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in acute care and be trained in chemotherapy review and preparation. The pharmacist will be responsible for the accurate dispensing, preparation, and monitoring of medications within regulatory compliance and hospital standards.
Responsibilities:Dispense medications in accordance with all state/federal regulations and facility policies.
Monitor drug therapy regimens for safety, including potential allergies, interactions, and adverse effects.
Prepare IV admixtures, including chemotherapy and total parenteral nutrition (TPN), using aseptic techniques.
Review chemotherapy treatment protocols for appropriate dosing and safety.
Work within a USP 800-compliant environment using closed system transfer devices.
Supervise pharmacy technicians and other ancillary personnel.
Participate in unit inspections and maintain emergency medication supplies.
Ensure culturally sensitive communication with patients and caregivers.
Support and uphold principles of safe medication practice and organizational competencies.
Education: Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy; minimum of a BS in Pharmacy.
License: Valid and active New Jersey Pharmacist License (no temporary licenses accepted).
Certifications: Must have board certification as a Certified Pharmacist .
Experience:
At least 1 year of acute care experience with chemotherapy training – Required .
3+ years of hospital experience – Highly preferred .
Hands-on experience with chemotherapy review and preparation – Required .
Strong knowledge of unit dose systems and aseptic technique.
Familiarity with relevant pharmacy software and EMR systems.
Excellent communication skills and team-oriented mindset.
