Passaic County Community College is seeking a Career Coach reports to the “Coordinator of Career Services and Early College” and is responsible for assisting students in developing employment search strategies, tools and skills; introducing students to career development resources as well as general campus resources; providing opportunities for students to develop career plans; and helping to educate the college community on current career trends
The is a part-time, grant-funded student position.
Examples of Duties
- Provide individual and group assistance with resume, cover letter writing and job search skills for current PCCC Path2 College students and alumni
- Increase student awareness of career opportunities on campus by collaborating with pathway coordinators, faculty and the Career Center
- Design and deliver career workshops and special events for students in specific majors
- Utilize career advisement tools such as LinkedIn, Handshake and Focus 2
- Maintain records and statistics on student usage and performance.
- Assist with planning and implementation of the Path2College summer bridge program
- Support students in completing pathway projects
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current PCCC student working towards an Associates degree.
- Completion of at least 1 full semester with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Excellent interpersonal, team-building, and administrative skills.
- Computer literate, proficient in the use of on-line and social media communications.
The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The minimum hourly pay for this position is $16.00
