School Nurse (RN/LPN) - Bus Transport

Horizon Healthcare Staffing is currently seeking compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) in Elizabeth, NJ to work with special needs students in a 1:1 capacity during their transportation to and from school on the school bus.

• $55/hr. incentivized per diem pay rate
• Flexible scheduling
• Perfect for nurses seeking supplemental income or work-life balance
• The assignment would be both AM and PM bus rides with the student.
• Each bus ride will take a minimum of 2 hours no matter the time it takes.

Bus Transport Responsibilities

• The nurse will be responsible for meeting the parent/student at the student’s home and ride the bus to school.
• Provide comprehensive medical assessment according to nursing practice standards.
• Monitor and administer medication(s) and give treatment(s) if needed.
• Respond to and assess emergency health needs of students.
• Ensure the safety of the child.
• Documentation of daily activity
• Ability to assist in case of an emergency.

Requirements:

• Must have one year of professional experience as a nurse.
• Active CPR card
• Experience with seizure precautions is required.
• Pediatric and/or 1:1 experience (a plus!)
• Must have or be willing to get fingerprinted by the Board of Education (we reimburse!)
