Job Overview:

The Rehabilitation Aide prepares the treatment area and assists patients in preparation for and during treatment sessions under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist. The Rehabilitation Aide maintains patient safety, transporting patients safely, with their medical records, equipment or devices as needed, to and from the Fitness Center parking lot or lobby.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• English fluency and possess good written and oral communication skills
• Basic math and typing
• Basic computer skills for data entry and retrieval

Preferred:

• Previous experience working with patients in a health care setting

Scheduling Requirements:

• Per Diem

Essential Functions:

• Prepare patient areas and assist therapists with treatment
• Transfer or assist to transfer patients to wheelchair or treatment table maintaining weight-bearing status and/or other patient safety precautions
• Maintain the general cleanliness of all rehabilitation equipment, storage areas and designated environmental surfaces
• Complete environmental testing and logs per policy or standards
• Inventory medical/surgical supplies per established schedules and place orders for new inventory
• Stock/shelve supplies and linen in designated storage treatment areas
• Perform a variety of clerical duties related to patient care and department administration
• Attend the reception area in the absence of the rehabilitation secretary or administrative assistant
• Accurately perform a variety of clerical duties related to patient care and department administration that may include but are not limited to: scheduling, registration, billing reconciliation, data entry, insurance verification and securing signatures on Plans of Care
