Job Title: Returns Associate
FLSA Status: Hourly Non-exempt
Location: South Kearny, NJ
Reports to: Inventory and Returns Manager
Schedule: M-F 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, occasional Saturdays 5:30 am to 12:00 pm
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Returns Associate is one of many core distribution positions. The incumbent is timely, well-organized, and prepared for the day and weekly workload. Grounded in the company’s core values, the Returns Associate employs critical thinking, organization, communication, and deductive reasoning skills to optimize distribution processes, standard operating procedures, and customer satisfaction, while leveraging a customer-centric, and forward-thinking mentality. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Prints and reviews Driver Manifests reporting.
- Takes part, leads, and or facilitates the assemblies of various outdoor furniture products
- Closes out completed delivered Driver Manifests reporting, reviewing for clean signatures and house descriptions.
- Communicates with Customer Service or Stores of any customer notes/claims on the manifest.
- Checks Truck Pick Reports to ensure all the merchandise will be available for the load out, i.e. open POs, Store Inbound transfers, and possible inventory issues, in advance of that delivery day.
- Works Driver Returns area(s) returning merchandise, capturing photos (visual evidence), and coding merchandise as to the proper condition codes; for return to vendors.
- Assists vendors during 3rd party quality control inspections
- Set up and, ship daily UPS outbound packages.
- Communicates with customers and stores when required
- Assists in dispatching, and responding to driver-to-customer calls
- Processes service and store inquiries
- Assist in ordering supplies.
Additional Requirements:
- Previous experience handling furniture, indoor or outdoor, is a plus
- Experience with a computer, software and Windows operating system
- Experience in the returns area is a plus
- Perform duties as assigned by the team leader
- Punctuality, attendance, commitment, reliability, and integrity
- The ability to work well independently

Education and/or Experience : High school graduate from an accredited school. 1-3
years of experience in a warehouse, delivery, or inventory-related environment.
Language Skills : Ability to develop, compose, read, analyze, and interpret
spreadsheets and emails. Ability to effectively present information and respond to
questions from supervisors, sales personnel, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills : Ability to calculate basic figures and amounts such as summing
inventory values, etc.
Reasoning Ability : Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills : Ability to perform and understand the most intermediate level
functions of personal computers and MS Office. Ability to use the company’s enterprise
software system (FROG) and to understand all relevant inventory-related computer
tasks.
