Are you passionate about making a tangible difference in your community? Do you thrive on building meaningful relationships and turning opportunities into impact? The Rescue Mission of Trenton is looking for a dynamic Development Associate to help fuel our mission and expand our reach.

Working closely with our Chief Development Officer, you’ll play a vital role in driving fundraising success—connecting with corporate partners, securing foundation support, and helping tell the powerful stories that inspire giving.

What You’ll Do
As a key member of our development team, you’ll help grow and sustain the partnerships that make our work possible:

Build & Strengthen Partnerships
• Identify, research, and connect with foundation and corporate partners aligned with our mission
• Cultivate relationships that lead to meaningful financial support, in-kind donations, and employee engagement

Create Compelling Funding Opportunities
• Assist in crafting persuasive grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and impact reports
• Help maintain a strategic grants calendar to ensure timely submissions and follow-ups

Lead Corporate Engagement
• Manage corporate giving and volunteer initiatives
• Develop customized sponsorships and volunteer experiences
• Coordinate engaging activities like volunteer days and cause-marketing campaigns

Showcase Impact
• Track outcomes, deliverables, and donor recognition
• Prepare reports and updates that demonstrate the difference our supporters make
• Help organize site visits and donor engagement opportunities

Collaborate for Success
• Partner with program and communications teams to bring stories and data to life
• Support fundraising events and campaigns
• Maintain accurate donor records and assist with grant budgeting

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 2+ years in fundraising, grant writing, or nonprofit development
• Strong writing and communication skills—you know how to inspire action
• Excellent organization and project management abilities
• Familiarity with donor databases like DonorPerfect or WealthEngine is a plus
• A genuine passion for serving the community and advancing our mission

Compensation & Schedule
• Salary: $50,000 – $55,000
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
