Assistant
Assistant Broker
The Assistant Broker supports brokers in servicing clients, preparing insurance submissions, managing policy documentation, and coordinating with insurers. This role is detail-oriented and client-focused, ensuring policies are accurately placed, renewed, and maintained while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support brokers with day-to-day account management for new and existing clients
- Prepare insurance submissions, quotations, endorsements, renewals, and policy documents
- Liaise with insurance carriers, underwriters, and clients to obtain information and resolve issues
- Review policies and endorsements for accuracy and compliance
- Maintain client files and update broker management systems and CRM records
- Assist with invoicing, premium tracking, and documentation follow-ups
- Respond to client inquiries and route complex issues to the broker as needed
- Ensure adherence to regulatory, compliance, and internal procedures
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the brokerage team
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education in business or insurance preferred)
- 13 years of experience in insurance, financial services, or an administrative support role
- Basic understanding of insurance products and terminology (personal or commercial lines)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with broker management systems a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Insurance license or willingness to obtain one
- Experience working in an insurance brokerage environment
- Familiarity with underwriting processes and policy servicing
