Travel CVICU RN Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel Nurse (Cardiac ICU / CVICU)
• Location: Camden, New Jersey (08103) — floating to Voorhees, Marlton, Mt. Holly, Willingboro, and OLOL as needed
• Duration: 13 weeks (April 13, 2026 – July 13, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:00), 3 shifts per week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Population: Adult cardiac patients (post-op open heart recovery)
• Unit Census: 16 patients, 21 rooms
• Weekend Coverage: Required (every other weekend/holiday)
• Charting System: Epic EMR

Required Qualifications – CVICU / Cardiac ICU RN

• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU / Cardiac ICU nursing experience (within the last 12 months)
• Direct open heart recovery experience from the OR (post-op cardiac surgery)
• Hands-on experience with advanced cardiac devices: balloon pumps, LVADs, Impella, and ECMO
• Active New Jersey RN license or Compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (cannot expire within 30 days of assignment start)
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia test within 72 hours of signing (2 attempts permitted; test must be taken on PC)
• COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• NIHSS certification preferred
• First-time travel nurses accepted, experienced travelers preferred
• Willingness to float to multiple hospitals within the health system as needed
• Navy blue scrubs required

CVICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to adult cardiovascular patients, including immediate post-op open heart surgery care
• Manage and troubleshoot advanced cardiac devices: balloon pumps, LVADs, Impella, and ECMO
• Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; recognize and respond to dysrhythmias
• Administer emergency medications and titrate vasoactive and inotropic drips
• Perform and assist with invasive procedures: central line care, arterial line management, chest tube insertion/removal
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, perfusion, and physical therapy
• Float to other critical care units within the health system as needed while maintaining CVICU competencies
• Document patient care accurately in Epic EMR and complete required orientation modules and labs promptly
• Adhere to infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
