Plant Maintenance Manager
Northern NJ
$120,000 – $140,000

We're hiring a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead plant-wide maintenance strategy for a well-established food manufacturing facility. This is a key leadership role with direct impact on uptime, safety, and operational efficiency.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the Maintenance Department across two shifts, including mechanical, electrical, and building systems

• Develop and drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs

• Oversee equipment reliability, downtime reduction, and plant utility systems

• Work closely with Operations and QA to prioritize repairs and support production goals

• Recommend upgrades, replacements, or modifications to improve performance and reduce cost

• Ensure CMMS system integrity, manage parts inventory, and control repair & maintenance budget

• Lead technician hiring, development, safety training, and performance management

• Manage vendor relationships and external service work as needed

What We're Looking For:

• 8+ years in industrial maintenance with at least 5 years in a manager-level role

• Prior experience working in USDA regulated facilities

• Solid experience with preventive/predictive maintenance, CMMS , and lean principles

• Hands-on familiarity with packaging, processing, and utility systems

• Strong leadership, team development, and communication skills

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial preferred)

• Comfortable managing budgets, vendors, audits, and KPIs

Preferred Experience:

• Knowledge of FDA, USDA, OSHA, and relevant food safety regulations

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance software (e.g., CMMS)

• Able to read equipment manuals, codes, and technical drawings

• Clean driving record; ability to work extended hours if needed
