Senior IT Systems Administrator / Cloud & Endpoint Infrastructure Engineer

About the Opportunity

A growing organization is seeking a hands-on Senior IT Systems Administrator to lead and support enterprise infrastructure, cloud services, endpoint management, security initiatives, and automation projects. This high-visibility role combines systems administration, Microsoft cloud technologies, cybersecurity, virtualization, and IT operations leadership.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience administering Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, Windows Server environments, virtualization platforms, and hybrid cloud infrastructure while serving as a technical escalation point for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Microsoft 365 & Identity Management

• Serve as administrator for Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) environments.
• Manage Conditional Access policies, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), RBAC, and identity governance.
• Administer Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions and enterprise application integrations.
• Support Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Microsoft collaboration platforms.
• Lead identity management initiatives and maintain a Zero Trust security posture.

Endpoint Management & Automation

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise endpoint solutions using Microsoft Intune and Autopilot.
• Implement zero-touch provisioning for remote and onsite employees.
• Develop endpoint security, compliance, and device management policies.
• Automate IT support functions through scripting, workflow automation, and AI-driven support solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement of onboarding, device lifecycle, and support processes.

Cloud & Infrastructure Administration

• Administer hybrid cloud environments including Azure Virtual Machines, virtual networks, storage services, and related infrastructure.
• Manage Windows Server environments including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, DFS, file servers, print servers, and RADIUS.
• Support virtualization platforms including Hyper-V and VMware environments.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, capacity planning, backup strategies, and disaster recovery processes.

Security & Compliance

• Implement and maintain cybersecurity solutions including endpoint detection and response (EDR), email security, and identity protection technologies.
• Manage vulnerability remediation, patch management, security auditing, and compliance initiatives.
• Support HIPAA, regulatory, and corporate security requirements where applicable.
• Partner with leadership to strengthen security architecture and risk mitigation strategies.

Technical Leadership & Operations

• Provide Tier 3 technical support and serve as an escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
• Mentor and develop Help Desk and junior IT personnel.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, technical documentation, and operational procedures.
• Lead enterprise technology migrations, upgrades, and modernization projects.
• Manage vendor relationships, licensing compliance, contract renewals, and technology spending optimization.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of Systems Administration, Infrastructure Engineering, or IT Operations experience.
• Strong expertise with:

• Experience supporting enterprise environments with 500+ users.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
• Experience implementing security controls including MFA, Conditional Access, and Zero Trust initiatives.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and project leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Azure Administrator, Microsoft 365, Security, or related certifications.
• Experience with Copilot Studio, AI-powered support automation, or chatbot development.
• Experience with Okta, SSO migrations, or identity consolidation projects.
• Familiarity with Cisco Meraki, enterprise wireless infrastructure, and physical access control systems.
• Experience supporting healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, or highly regulated environments.
