Senior Tax Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join a growing public accounting practice in West Caldwell, NJ . The position focuses on comprehensive tax planning, preparation, and advisory services for individuals and small-to-mid-sized businesses.

Based in West Caldwell, NJ , the Senior Tax Accountant will work closely with business owners to implement tax minimization strategies, ensure compliance, and support financial decision-making. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and S-corporations.
• Deliver proactive, year-round tax planning strategies to optimize client financial results.
• Interpret new and evolving tax regulations and communicate implications clearly to clients.
• Advise business owners on entity structure, estimated tax planning, and compliance requirements.
• Assist clients with IRS notices, tax resolution matters, and regulatory correspondence.
• Partner with bookkeeping and advisory teams to ensure tax-efficient financial reporting.
• Review work from junior staff and provide mentorship on technical tax matters.
• Foster strong client relationships through regular communication and professional guidance in West Caldwell .

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred or actively pursuing).
• 4+ years of public accounting experience, emphasizing tax.
• Deep knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
• Experience managing multi-entity and small business tax engagements.
• Proficiency with tax preparation and accounting software platforms.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
