Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (Contract)

Location: Perth Amboy, NJ 08861

Duration: 3 Months

Schedule:

• Hours per Week: 36

• Hours per Day: 12

• Days per Week: 3

• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12)

• Contract: 13 weeks from start date (with possible extension to 6 months)

The Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery (L&D) is responsible for evaluating patients, assisting physicians, and providing comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns. This role involves planning, implementing, and documenting patient care, while ensuring safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing practices.

• Evaluate patients and assist physicians with patient care.

• Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient needs.

• Identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.

• Develop and coordinate individualized care plans through initial and ongoing assessments.

• Initiate assessments based on patient problems, physician diagnoses, and functional health frameworks.

• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care.

• Document care based on standards of care, practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.

• Advocate for evidence-based practice and support adoption of innovations in care delivery.

• Provide patient-centered care aligned with the professional nursing practice model.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in Labor & Delivery.

• Experience with couplet care strongly preferred.

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN).

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

• Active NJ State RN license or multi-state compact license.

• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).

• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).

Preferred Certifications:

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).

• Advanced AWHONN or Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM).

• Immediate start available; return travelers highly considered.
