Job Title: Machinist
Location: Lakewood, NJ


Type: Contract To Hire
Compensation: $22.00/hr.


Hours: 40 hours/week, 7:00am to 3:00pm Monday-Friday

Machinist Responsibilities:

• Operate metalworking tools to machine parts that meet specifications and quality requirements.
• Assist manufacturing to minimize unplanned downtime and improve Overall Equipment Efficiency.
• Maintain a clean workspace and organized tooling cabinet.
• Contribute to a multi-departmental team to resolve manufacturing problems.
• Design jigs, fixtures, and other equipment to enhance production efficiency.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, safety practices, and OSHA regulations.
• Recognize wasteful processes and implement improvements to increase production speed and efficiency.
• Verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments and knowledge of trigonometry.
• Document process procedures during product development and prototyping phases.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Machinist Requirements:

• At least 3-5 years of professional experience; 5+ years preferred.
• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of welding techniques for plastics and metals.
• Good communication skills for collaboration with operations personnel and management.
• Ability to operate mobile equipment.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and drawings, with knowledge of quality requirements.
• Self-directed with limited supervision.
• Ability to work from prints, sketches, and instructions.
• Proficient in using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Experience programming Bridgeport CNC Mill for part creation and modifications.
• Proficient with various hand and power tools, CNC machines, and lathes.
• Capable of lifting and moving objects up to 60 lbs.
• Walking and standing on concrete surfaces for 8+ hours daily.
