We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clerical - Administrative professional to support laboratory quality assurance, accreditation, and compliance initiatives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
What You’ll Do:
Support Accreditation and Compliance Efforts: Assist with internal inspections of laboratory facilities and specimen collection sites ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. Serve as a resource on CLIA '88 regulations and CAP accreditation standards to maintain laboratory certification and quality.
Coordinate Proficiency Testing: Manage enrollment, participation, and corrective actions related to proficiency testing programs. Ensure the timely resubmission of blind samples and validity checks, maintaining rigorous instrument-to-instrument, method-to-method, and laboratory-to-laboratory comparison processes.
Enhance Quality Assurance Programs: Support monthly QA meetings, maintain quality indicators, and assist in the distribution and review of QA Manuals. Contribute to monitoring corporate quality surveillance, patient results distribution, and best practice initiatives.
Facilitate Quality Improvement Initiatives: Track and report reportable quality issues in compliance with SOPs, ensuring complete documentation and resolution. Support the implementation of quality improvements and process enhancements across laboratory departments.
Administrative and Organizational Support: Maintain accurate documentation, coordinate schedules, and ensure compliance with SOPs and accreditation standards. Handle multiple tasks efficiently within a matrix organizational structure.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Professional Experience: Minimum of three years working in a laboratory setting with a strong understanding of laboratory operations, quality assurance, and accreditation requirements.
Certifications: Qualification as a General Laboratory Supervisor as defined by CLIA '88 is mandatory.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in laboratory quality tools, statistical quality control, and relevant computer applications.
Communication: Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and regulatory agencies.
Problem-Solving and Organization: Demonstrated ability to manage change, multi-task, and lead quality improvement projects. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential.
Additional Qualifications: Ability to motivate teams, function effectively in a biohazard environment, and operate within a matrix organization are highly desirable.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
Familiarity with laboratory information systems.
Previous involvement in biohazard or infectious disease laboratory environments.
Multilingual abilities are a plus for diverse team coordination.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
Proven track record supporting laboratory compliance and quality assurance programs.
Other Requirements:
Must be able to work in a biohazard environment adhering to safety protocols.
Flexibility to handle varied administrative responsibilities.
