Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll across multiple divisions.
- Upload and validate payroll files within UKG and supporting systems.
- Review and reconcile timekeeping data including overtime, production pay and adjustments, manage time and labor dashboards, and resolve timecard exceptions.
- Apply retroactive adjustments and process off-cycle payrolls as needed.
- Process one-time payments, incentive bonuses, and special compensation payments.
- Ensure proper taxation, deductions, garnishments, and benefit withholdings.
- Assist in processing employee transfers between companies or division within the payroll system.
- Set up and maintain employee arrears balances.
- Process payroll adjustments related to deductions, loans, and other employee withholdings.
- Administer and review third-party sick pay and disability payments.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and wage laws.
- Maintain separation of duties and payroll internal controls.
- Prepare certified payroll reports and submit to government agencies when required.
- Support audit requests and maintain payroll documentation.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports for management and accounting teams.
- Support company payroll tax adjustments and corrections as needed.
- Assist with quarterly and year-end filings including W-2s.
- Support in documenting payroll SOPs and workflows.
- Handle payroll related inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Support timekeeping system validation and troubleshooting.
- Partner with HR on onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, and policy updates impacting payroll.
- Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of employee information.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of payroll processing experience (multi-state preferred).
- Strong understanding of payroll practices, labor laws, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with payroll platforms (UKG is a plus).
- Strong Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data validation) and data entry skills.
- Experience with payroll reconciliations and reporting.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Work Environment:
- Works closely with HR and Finance teams.
