About East West Electrical Contractors:

We are a well‑established electrical contracting and generator company serving residential and commercial clients in northern New Jersey and the surrounding area. We handle everything from small service calls to larger renovation and construction projects, with a strong focus on safety, quality workmanship, and professional customer service.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Electrician with a minimum of 5 years of field experience in both residential and commercial settings. The ideal candidate is comfortable running jobs independently, mentoring apprentices, and representing the company professionally on occupied job sites and in customers’ homes and businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and new installations for residential and commercial electrical systems.
• Install and service panels, sub‑panels, feeders, branch circuits, lighting, receptacles, and equipment connections.
• Read and interpret blueprints, one‑line diagrams, and specifications to plan and execute work.
• Run and terminate conduit (EMT, PVC, RMC), MC, and other wiring methods to current code requirements.
• Perform service upgrades, panel changes, and load calculations as required.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently and safely with minimal callbacks.
• Coordinate with office staff, project managers, and other trades to keep jobs on schedule.
• Lead or oversee helpers/apprentices, providing guidance and ensuring quality control.
• Complete work orders and documentation accurately using our service software and mobile devices.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all company, OSHA, and NEC safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of verifiable field experience as a residential/commercial electrician.
• Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and local code requirements.
• Ability to work safely on energized and de‑energized systems, using proper PPE and lockout/tagout practices.
• Proficiency with troubleshooting, service work, and small projects/renovations.
• Comfortable working independently, reading plans, and communicating scope/needs to the office.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Professional demeanor and strong communication skills with homeowners, tenants, GCs, and inspectors.
• Ability to lift and carry materials, climb ladders, and work in attics, basements, and other tight spaces.

Nice to have (or preferred):

• NJ electrical license (or on track toward licensure).
• Experience with generators, EV chargers, lighting controls, or smart home systems.
• Experience mentoring apprentices and running small crews.
