IT Support Specialist (Help Desk / Software & Hardware Support)

Location: Union, NJ
Pay Rate: $22 – $28/hour (based on experience)

Position Overview:
A growing technology and solutions provider is seeking a Professional Support Specialist (IT Help Desk) to support clients with software installation, troubleshooting, and ongoing technical assistance. This role is ideal for someone with a strong customer service mindset and hands-on technical ability who enjoys solving problems and working directly with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day phone and remote technical support for software applications

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot software systems based on client needs

• Perform on-site and remote installations, including setup and customization

• Support hardware peripherals, including ID card printers and related equipment

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues using troubleshooting best practices

• Coordinate with client IT teams to resolve escalated technical issues

• Log, track, and manage support tickets for reporting and historical reference

• Process administrative tasks using ERP systems (NetSuite or similar)

• Assist with additional tasks such as product delivery, sales support, and project-based work

Qualifications:

• 1–2+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, or technical customer service

• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to think critically and solve problems

• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

• Highly organized with strong time management abilities

• Comfortable working with both software and hardware systems

• Willingness to learn new technologies and attend training as needed

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with help desk systems, CRM, or ERP platforms (NetSuite a plus)

• Exposure to software installation, networking basics, or system configuration

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field (not required)
