The Maintenance Associate performs a wide range of general maintenance tasks to keep the facility clean, safe, and fully operational. This role focuses on maintaining both the interior and exterior of the building, supporting daily operations through hands-on repairs, cleaning, and routine inspections. The position involves working with basic tools and equipment, addressing minor plumbing issues, and ensuring that emergency and building systems remain in good working order.
Responsibilities- Perform general maintenance and upkeep of the facility, including both interior and exterior areas.
- Replace light bulbs, air filters, and damaged ceiling tiles to ensure proper lighting and air quality.
- Inspect and maintain emergency equipment regularly to ensure readiness and compliance with safety standards.
- Operate floor scrubbers and other facility cleaning equipment to maintain clean floors and common areas.
- Clean windows and maintain the appearance of facility grounds and common spaces.
- Add salt to water treatment systems as needed to support proper operation.
- Perform basic and light plumbing repairs, such as fixing leaks or replacing simple components.
- Salt and shovel walkways during snow, ice, or other inclement weather conditions to maintain safe access.
- Handle garbage and recycling collection, removal, and disposal in accordance with facility procedures.
- Perform routine facility inspections to identify maintenance needs and address issues proactively.
- Assist with facility-related projects and repairs as directed, including painting and minor building upkeep.
- Carry out groundskeeping tasks to ensure the exterior of the facility remains clean and presentable.
- Perform janitorial duties as needed to maintain a clean, safe, and functional work environment.
- Follow safety procedures and best practices to maintain a safe workplace for all employees.
- Work both independently and as part of a team to complete assigned maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Experience performing building or facilities maintenance in an industrial or similar environment.
- Hands-on maintenance experience using basic hand tools for repairs and upkeep.
- Knowledge of basic plumbing repairs, including light plumbing maintenance tasks.
- Experience operating cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and related machinery.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing daily tasks.
- Strong attention to detail when inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining facility areas.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent facility operations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis as part of daily maintenance activities.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as needed, including in varying weather conditions.
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to following safety procedures and guidelines.
- Experience with groundskeeping tasks such as exterior cleaning and basic landscape upkeep.
- Painting experience for touch-ups and minor facility improvement projects.
- Janitorial experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or commercial environment.
- Comfort working in a physical, hands-on role that involves routine lifting, carrying, and cleaning.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with facility leadership and team members.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and address maintenance issues promptly.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a manufacturing and industrial facility with both indoor and outdoor maintenance responsibilities. The work is physical and hands-on, involving routine lifting, carrying, cleaning, and repair activities throughout the day. You can expect exposure to seasonal weather conditions when maintaining walkways and exterior areas, including salting and shoveling during snow and ice. Assignments include a mix of independent tasks and team-based projects, all carried out in a safety-focused environment that emphasizes proper use of tools, equipment, and protective practices.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eatontown, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
