We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our team in Cape May, New Jersey. This long-term contract position is ideal for candidates with a strong attention to detail, a solid background in cash applications, and a strong understanding of accounting principles. The role requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a minimum of one year of relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
• Process and reconcile cash applications with accuracy and efficiency.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Maintain and update financial records to ensure compliance with company policies.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for management review.
• Assist in identifying discrepancies and resolving accounting issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support overall financial operations.
• Utilize Excel to analyze data and generate reports.
• Ensure all accounting functions adhere to regulatory standards and best practices.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the accounting department.
• At least 1 year of experience in cash applications and general accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables and formulas.
• Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial computations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve discrepancies.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and applicable regulations.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work efficiently.
