Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper / Office Coordinator
Our client, an importer located in Jersey City, NJ has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper & Office Coordinator . This is a long-term opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to support both accounting operations and general office administration in a dynamic, growing business.
This role is ideal for someone who is organized, resourceful, and looking to grow their responsibilities over time within a finance team.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance
- Record cash receipts, accounts payable, and intercompany transactions
- Perform daily cash tracking and bank reconciliations
- Assist with accounts payable processing, including check, wire, and ACH payments
- Support accounts receivable tracking A/R reporting
- Assist with monthly invoices
- Coordination of time and expense inputs
- Preparing Cargo Insurance claims
Administrative & Office Support
- Provide general office management and organizational support
- Maintain filing systems
- Order office supplies and other business needs
- Support preparation of reports
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel required; Word helpful)
- Experience with accounting systems (ERP experience a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Strong communication skills
- Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus
