Mainframe Developer
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Mainframe Developer in Jersey City, NJ. Responsibilities:
- Mainframe Developer will provide daily support, ad-hoc requests, and system maintenance
- Analyze requirements, design technical specs, and develop code for business applications
- Develop, test, debug, and implement solutions; Ensure documentation for all projects
- Lead projects or assignments with minimal supervision; Manage scope and timelines
- Collaborate with business users to translate requirements into functional specs
- As a Mainframe Developer, you will participate in QA, implementation, and incident management for supported applications
- Strong understanding of full project life cycle; Able to work independently in dynamic environments
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Experience coding and debugging Mainframe Platforms
- Strong hands-on knowledge of COBOL SQL coding, CICS, debugging and utilities
- Strong knowledge of CA-Scheduler, and IBM utilities
- Knowledge of MQSeries coding in both the batch and CICS environments
- JCL/PROC, VSAM, SYNCSORT and file-based interfaces
- CICS coding, performance/tuning/design concepts, debugging and utilities
- Strong Relational Database skills: DB2/ SQL and file-based interfaces
- Proficient with Xpediter, Intertest and other mainframe tools
- Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, VISIO
- Knowledge of XML a plus
