The Car House, located in Butler NJ is a member of Northern New Jersey’s largest independent pre-owned dealer group, consisting of four locations and over 1,000 quality pre-owned vehicles. We are actively searching for an experienced Head Mechanic to lead our service department by taking over the daily service management and scheduling jobs amongst five mechanics. Qualified candidates should be highly motivated, know how to repair all domestic and import vehicles, enjoy performing vehicle diagnosis and repair, and know how to meet and exceed hourly goals. Job Responsibilities

• Diagnose the cause of any vehicle system malfunction and repair in a timely manner.
• Provide labor and time estimates to management and customers.
• Manage daily work schedule and assign tasks to specific tech.
• Able to explain mechanical problems and needed repairs to management and vehicle owners in a non-technical manner.
• Work as part of a team with other technicians to troubleshoot problems, meet deadlines, and deliver distinguished results.

Job Requirements:

• MUST be able to diagnose and repair ANY vehicle system including but not limited too; engine, transmission, cooling, fuel, electrical, steering, suspension, tires and brakes, heating/AC, and possible light body work, etc.…
• Have experience with automotive diagnostic computers & programs.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques.
• A positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a team player.
• At least 2 years of stable auto mechanic work history.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Show initiative, responsibility, and must be reliable.
• Energetic, hardworking, and able to multi-task.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Spanish speaking a plus but not required.
• Have your own tools.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
