Job Title: Medical Assistant - Back Office

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant for our back office operations. This role requires proficiency in EMR systems to update patient records, updating and providing patients with information on treatments, medications, and post-procedure care, and collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient office operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient examinations, take vital signs, and prepare patients for procedures.
• Log medications and update the computer system for procedures.
• Prepare patient charts ahead of scheduled appointments and confirm missing patient forms for pre-visit preparation.
• Schedule appointments with patients
• Verify patient insurance coverage and collect copayments.
• Maintain and update patient records

Essential Skills

• Experience with EMR systems
• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Knowledge of medical assisting and insurance processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred but not required; expired certifications will be considered.
• Experience in insurance knowledge from previous roles is a plus.

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with shifts from 7:30 AM to 4 PM or 9 AM to 5 PM. One evening shift per week is expected, from 12 PM to 8 PM, scheduled in advance. Candidates will work one weekend approximately once a quarter. The position requires 40 hours per week, with flexibility to stay until the last patient leaves. The role involves face-to-face interaction with 20-40 patients a day, depending on provider rotation. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
