Formulation Scientist

Akkodis is seeking a Formulation Scientist for a Contract with a client in Raritan, NJ. This role requires deep expertise in product formulation and launches while collaborating across teams and suppliers to translate technical insights into viable solutions .

Rate Range: $60/hour to $64/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Formulation Scientist job responsibilities include:

• Lead formulation design from concept through prototyping, design reviews, and validation phases.

• Drive in‑vitro/ex‑vivo product characterization to establish strong technical understanding and correlate findings to clinical outcomes.

• Collaborate with internal cross‑functional teams and external suppliers to develop materials, iterate raw components, and support product creation across modeling, lab, pilot, and manufacturing scales.

• Develop and execute experimental learning plans, including protocol development, documentation, and applied statistical analysis (DOE).

• Participate in clinical procedures to translate observations into feasible prototype designs and material adjustments.

• Utilize analytical problem‑solving methods to resolve technical challenges while operating effectively in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Material Science, or related scientific discipline.

• 5–8 years of experience in product formulation, biomaterials development, or medical device/combination product R&D.

• Proven experience leading formulation design from concept through prototyping and validation, including DOE and analytical problem‑solving.

• Strong background in product characterization and test method development, with the ability to collaborate across cross‑functional teams and external suppliers.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $64.00 per hour
