Fundraising & Engagement Coordinator
Overview: The Fundraising & Engagement Coordinator is a key member of the fundraising and engagement team responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding annual and leadership donors while also managing community engagement and the day-to-day operations of the fundraising program. This role blends relationship management with operational support to advance the organization’s mission, grow philanthropic support, and strengthen community partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of individual donors and prospects with the capacity up to $25,000.
- Develop and execute personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
- Coordinate donor meetings, events, and proposals in collaboration with the Deputy Director.
- Track and report on donor activity and revenue projections using CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce).
- Serve as the museum’s point person for community outreach and partnership development.
- Manage the museum’s community donation program (using Approve for Good).
- Represent the organization at community events and civic functions.
- Build relationships with community leaders to enhance visibility and support.
- Develop community engagement strategies that align with the organization’s mission and fundraising goals.
- Support the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, including annual giving, direct mail, and digital campaigns.
- Work with marketing staff to develop donor-centric materials and outreach strategies.
- Frequent weekend and evening attendance at events required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3+ years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, nonprofit development, or community organization preferred
- Demonstrated success in donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, or community engagement.
- Strong public speaking, writing, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be a highly organized person, with a proven ability to work simultaneously on many projects.
- Database management is a plus.
- A passion for community service and relationship-building across diverse populations.
- A strong affinity for the mission of the Edelman Fossil Park & Museum.
- Driver’s license and own vehicle.
- Museum headquarters is located in the lower level of the stunning new Edelman Fossil Park Museum. The headquarters suite features a reception area, private offices, a large open office area, three conference rooms, a kitchenette, team lounge, and outdoor patio, situated adjacent to a 4-acre lake.
- This is a full-time position with G&A Museum Operation, LLC, based at the Edelman Fossil Park & Museum, in Mantua Township, NJ
- Primarily office-based with regular interaction in museum public spaces.
- May require early mornings, evenings, or weekends based on group schedules.
Compensation Range: $50,000-$60,000 salary plus benefits
