Accounting Manager

Soltage follows a hybrid work schedule. This role requires an in-office presence in Jersey City, New Jersey on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Position Expectations:
Soltage is seeking an experienced candidate to join our fast-growing solar distributed generation company. The Accounting Manager will serve as a key member of the Accounting team. The successful candidate is required to have previous experience in the renewable energy/solar/wind industry for this role. In addition to having strong accounting principles skills, the successful candidate will have demonstrable experience working with intercompany transactions and multi-level ownership structures (and, specifically, tax equity structures).

Specific Job Functions:

• Review accounting activity in the general ledger, accounts payable and other accounting related activities.
• Preparing Budget to Actual analysis and variance analysis.
• Management of cash flow.
• Coordinate and manage external audits for multiple entities.
• Implement and refine departmental accounting processes to improve efficiency via automation.
• Financial Reporting - analyze and present data in the form of financial reports.
• Coordinate internally with accounting department while also managing cross-departmental processes across the Company.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required. CPA and/or related Masters degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of Public or Private accounting experience.
• Experience in the Renewable Energy/Solar/Wind industries is required.
• Experience with intercompany transactions and multi-level ownership structures, specifically tax equity structures, is required.
• Cost accounting experience is required.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team, communicate clearly and collaborate with other departments.
• Proficiency with accounting software (Sage Intacct and QuickBooks), Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Excel.
• Proven ability to analyze financial data.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities.
• A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is crucial.
