Accounts Receivable Manager

Job Summary:

BrightSpan Health is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager to lead our receivables operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the full AR cycle—from payment posting and reconciliation to collections and appeals. The ideal candidate will ensure timely reimbursement, maintain accurate billing records, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payment issues. This position plays a key role in driving financial performance and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee the full AR cycle: payment posting, reconciliation, and collections
  • Monitor aging reports and follow up on unpaid claims, denials, and underpayments
  • Manage appeals processes and ensure timely reimbursement
  • Maintain accurate billing records in EMR and billing software
  • Collaborate with providers, clients, and insurance reps to resolve payment issues
  • Generate and analyze AR reports to track performance and identify trends
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience in AR or medical billing (behavioral health preferred)
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS codes
  • Familiarity with insurance verification, prior auths, and appeals
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills
  • Understanding of Medicaid and commercial insurance policies
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred)

It’d be a plus if you had:

  • 1–3 years billing experience in behavioral health
  • Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or similar credential
  • Experience with payer portals and clearinghouses
  • Familiarity with telehealth billing
