Overview

A major Level I academic medical center in Central New Jersey is seeking an experienced Anatomic Pathologist for on-site locum coverage. Pediatric pathology capability is strongly preferred. Youll join a high-caliber team handling complex surgical and cytopathology cases and contributing to a fast-paced, teaching-oriented environment.

• Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00a5:00p on-site ; night/weekend call required
• Setting: Level I trauma, academic medical center; Epic EMR
• Team: ~13 attending pathologists + robust support staff
• Average Daily Load: ~30 cases/day (many complex)
• Case Volume (Annual): ~60,000 surgical pathology | ~10,000 cytopathology

What Youll Do

• Sign out a broad range of surgical pathology cases; cytopathology sign-out may be included
• Perform frozen section analysis and provide rapid on-site evaluations (ROSE) for cytology
• Collaborate with a collegial pathologist team in a high-throughput, academically active department
• Participate in call per departmental schedule

Required Qualifications

• Board Certification in Anatomic Pathology (AP)
• Proven proficiency in surgical pathology ; comfort with complex cases
• Experience with frozen sections and ROSE
• Pediatric pathology experience or capability highly preferred
• Unrestricted eligibility for hospital privileges (full privileges granted via CVO process; timing varies)

Nice to Have

• Cytopathology expertise and prior experience in Level I trauma/academic centers
• Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
