The Crystal Springs Resort General Mechanic will monitor and maintain building equipment and structures.

• Maintains, repairs and improves all operations of the property. Property includes hotel rooms, pools, kitchens, sports club and all of the spaces, mechanics, furnishings and equipment required for these operations
• Troubleshoots equipment using proper tools in a skilled craftsman-like manner throughout the Resort
• Performs assignments as directed
• Handles routine calls
• Completes daily logs for every shift worked to inform management team of all work performed
• Makes daily rounds of property to ensure smooth operation of all equipment and repairs malfunctioning mechanic devices
• Must be able to interact with guests and co-workers in a professional, friendly and service-oriented manner
• Must have the ability to respond to and interact appropriately with guests and team members
• Respond positively and quickly to guests’ concerns and correct potential challenges before they affect guests
• Promotes positive guest, employee, and public relations at all times
• Responsible for the quality, consistency, and presentation of all guest rooms, grounds, mechanics and services delivered to guests
• Responsible for the security of any assigned keys/master keys
• Assists in other projects and handles job tasks as deemed appropriate
• Attends meetings as necessary
• Follows procedures to maintain the safety and security of all team members, guests, and company assets (equipment, supplies)
• Meets attendance guidelines and maintains regular attendance, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
• Ensures that all equipment and work environment is kept clean and in excellent working condition

Requirements:

• This position requires a thorough knowledge of a specialized or technical field. May compile objective or measurable data and produce reports. May require operating knowledge of manufacturing or computer equipment. Should have a working ability with general mechanics, including light carpentry & electrical, HVAC, heating, plumbing, grounds maintenance, etc.
• High school diploma
• Minimum of one year experience
• This position requires a valid driver's license at the time of hire

Working Condition and Physical Effort:

• The workload required to perform this job requires the ability to adapt to change significant portions of daily assignments involve application of manual skills requiring motor coordination in combination with finger, e.g. typing, handwriting, or machine operations
• Significant portions of daily assignments involve prolonged standing, transporting material or equipment, lifting or moving, or carrying heavy (over 30 pounds) materials for intermittent periods throughout the day Significant portions of daily assignments involve exposure to dirt, odors, noise, temperature/weather extremes. Working surfaces may be unlevel, slippery, or unstable
• Work regularly requires or varies between the day, evening, night, holiday, or weekend assignments. Schedule varies according to business demands and needs
• Significant portions of daily assignments involve occupational risk, such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, injuries from falls, or back injury sustained with assisting with moving, lifting or positioning equipment or materials
• Significant portions of daily assignments involve ergonomic risk, such regular repetitive tasks, forceful prolonged exertions of the hands, vibration, cold temperatures, heavy lifting, pulling, pushing, or carrying of heavy objects, poor body mechanics, restrictive workstations, or awkward postures
• Must adhere to all safety policies and procedures
• Requires travel to other locations within the resort
